Crude reality awakens Ms. Wang to dangers of Falun Gong

Wang Xueling finally came to realize her error and felt deep regret for what she had done. It never occurred to her at the beginning that a "good book" that was said to be able to "save lives" could have made her husband lose his life so early. Initially, her husband was suffering from rheumatism with a mild cough. But since Zhuan Falun, a "good book" regarded as a "magic tool", was brought home, the mild cough of her husband slowly turned into a continuous cough until it worsened into lung cancer. That "good book" has tormented her family for more than ten years, and it even ruined her son’s life.

Wang Xueling is an ordinary, simple, and kind-hearted woman from Mengjiatun Village, Yixian Township, Liaoning Province. Although Falun Gong had been preaching "truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance", Wang Xueling was still unable to escape the scourge of the evil cult. In the end, she could only heave deep sighs and shed sad tears.

Wang Xueling came into contact with Falun Gong in 1998. One day, she accompanied her husband downtown to see a doctor for his rheumatism in a hospital. When she arrived at the hospital gate, she saw a crowd of people on the street. A lady onlooker said to her: "A bookseller is selling books here. This book can help you cure any illness and you don’t have to spend money.”

For Wang Xueling, such good news was no less than a pleasant surprise. She took 12.5 yuan out of the money she had prepared for her husband's medical treatment and exchanged it for a copy of the "miraculous live-saving book". When Wang Xueling squeezed out of the crowd, her husband asked her if they should still go to the hospital. Wang Xueling said, "Why should we go to the hospital? Any illness can be cured with this book!" With that, she went home with her husband following her.

From then on, Wang Xueling got fascinated by the evil cult of Falun Gong. Back home, Wang Xueling took out the "miraculous book" eagerly and asked her husband to read it to her. When her husband got tired, she read it to him. The more they read, the more they were fascinated by it; and the more they listened, the more they wanted to listen. It turned out that the book was not about folk remedies but the “Fa principles”. "Master" said that he would "cleanse the body" of every "true cultivation disciple", and that he would use “Falun (Law Wheel)” to inject energy into his disciples to protect them from harm. "Master" also said that one fell ill because the karma in one's body was too great and that one would be relieved when the "karma" was eliminated. To eliminate karma, one must accumulate merit and virtue, and "virtue can evolve directly into merit”.

Due to the temptation of "Fa principles", the couple soon became the "true cultivation disciples" of “Master” Li Hongzhi and learned the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. Although her husband’s legs still ached during his practice, Wang Xueling felt it was because her husband hadn’t learned them well enough, nor had he understood the "Fa principles” completely. Then, Wang Xueling bought a tape recorder and installed a Falun Gong propaganda tape cassette, going to a small shop in the village every night to "spread the Fa” and "save people". However, no one believed in the "Fa principles" played on the tape recorder. Her husband, who had rheumatism, was still suffering from leg pain.

According to "Master", “taking life generates a great amount of karma", and that "animals and plants count as lives, just as humans do; everything is alive in other dimensions.” To accumulate "merit" and eliminate "karma", Wang Xueling advised her husband to watch his feet while walking so as to avoid trampling on ants, as it would increase his "karma". Wang’s family raised 24 chickens and two pigs, and to abstain from killing living things, she sold those chickens and pigs at a low price and told the buyers not to kill them. Not only did she not weed the crops in her family’s fields, but she also did not eliminate redundant seedlings, because she believed that extirpating weeds and eliminating seedlings was also killing living things. In the end, all of her family's farmland was left uncultivated.

Obsession with Falun Gong made life increasingly difficult for Wang Xueling’s family, as her husband's illness had worsened year by year due to refusing medical treatment and medication. However, the more serious her husband's illness became, the more obsessed Wang Xueling became with Falun Gong. As Wang Xueling had been practicing Gong and studying the “Fa” behind-closed-door for a long time, she had little contact with the outside world, and she thought it was the best environment for "practicing cultivation". She said to her husband: "Let's practice hard since no one comes to our house. As you accumulate more virtue, your illness will be gone." The couple wasn’t concerned about "fame, wealth, or affection", not even about their son who was still a school student, so much so that their son dropped out of school and began to work at an early age. Sadly, even at this point, Wang Xueling still insisted that those who refused to practice Falun Gong were woodenheads and that she was the smartest one. The complete reversal of right and wrong often made Wang Xueling have an illusion that she felt the "Falun (Law Wheel)" planted by "Master" in her lower abdomen spinning with a rumbling sound.

While her husband's condition was deteriorating in the process of "eliminating karma", Wang Xueling's mind was still firmly controlled by the heretical fallacies of Falun Gong. According to "Master", “Doing healings is fine since, after all, the workings of it can’t be seen. All that’s apparent is that the person feels better. How did the healing happen? It’s up to you to believe the whole thing or not. The person is better now, but do you believe that he is? An onlooker can’t tell whether he is still in pain. Since one’s powers of insight are still involved, doing healings is okay.”

After being enlightened by the "scriptures" of "Master", Wang Xueling was able to "understand" another “Fa principle”: Only by writing slogans to spread "Dafa" could one "gain gong" and cure one’s illness. Then, she hung an ink bottle on the front of her bicycle and went everywhere to write Falun Gong propaganda slogans furtively. To avoid being noticed, she always broke a corn cob and used it as a writing brush. If she was noticed, she would throw the cob on the ground and lie that she hadn’t written the slogan. She had abandoned "truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance”, the three tenets used by Falun Gong to glorify itself.

The ghost of Falun Gong had haunted Wang Xueling’s family for more than 10 years, and it had finally turned her husband's minor illness into a serious one. In the beginning, her husband had only mild coughing, but after years of "true cultivation", it went from bad to worse. Her husband was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer after a check-up in the hospital. Wang Xueling was unable to believe it: How could her husband have developed lung cancer when he had been practicing Gong and studying "Fa" to cure his illness? Her husband went to Shenyang Medical University Hospital for another check-up, which came up with the same result: advanced lung cancer.

Wang Xueling felt both despair and regret. But gradually, she came to realize the truth. She said, "If I hadn't bought that book, maybe my husband could have lived a few more years. Now, medicine is very advanced. If my husband had received medical treatment right from the beginning, he might have lived to the age of 70 or 80 years. Falun Gong has deprived him of his life!"

She added, "If I find anyone practicing Falun Gong, I’ll advise him or her to quit it. It’s always right to believe in science. I've been on the wrong track over the years, but now I’m old when I came to realize my errors. If I had come to realize my errors earlier, I wouldn’t have ruined the life of my son!"
